General information, not professional advice
Our guides are general information for Australian households. They are not plumbing, engineering, legal or financial advice, and they don't account for your specific property, soil, system or council. Wastewater rules genuinely differ by state and council and change often — always confirm requirements with your local council, your state regulator or a licensed professional before acting. Costs on this site are indicative ranges, not quotes.
What our referral service is — and isn't
When you use the quote form or our directories, we pass your enquiry to accredited local operators, who may pay us a referral fee (disclosed plainly on our about page). We check licensing and accreditation before listing operators, but:
- any work you engage an operator for is a contract between you and them, not with us;
- we don't supervise, warrant or guarantee the quality, price, timeliness or outcome of their work;
- quotes are the operator's own — we don't set or endorse their pricing.
If an operator lets you down, pursue it with them directly, and tell us too — repeated problems get operators removed from the site.
Accuracy
We work hard to keep guides current against state regulations and council fee schedules, and we date every page. But regulations, forms and fees change without notice, and we can't promise every page is up to date at the moment you read it. If you spot an error, tell us.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we're not liable for loss arising from your use of the site, reliance on its content, or the acts or omissions of any operator we refer you to; and where liability can't be excluded but can be limited, it's limited to resupplying the relevant service. The site is provided as-is, and we may change or remove content at any time.
Your use of the site
Don't submit fake enquiries, scrape operator contact details, or misuse the forms. Content on the site is ours (or licensed to us) — you're welcome to link to any page, but don't republish guides wholesale without permission.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia and the state or territory in which we operate, and disputes are subject to the courts of that jurisdiction.
